There is enough for everyone, so why are some still poor?
Who is it that these assemblymen are really working for?
Not you,
Of that you can be damn sure.
The golden rule in a society of fools
The gold owners make the rules,
In this land of Oz, is it still called a nation of laws
When the Congress works for crime bosses?
Here’s a civics lesson:
A fat cat digs his grubby little paws in his deep, deep pockets
Buys a congressperson, gets his bill on the docket,
Sits back and watches as his stock price skyrockets
It’s that simple, really.
You were nowhere in that equation
They might not actively hate you,
They just don’t even factor you in
This system ain’t built for humanistic purposes
It’s just an extraction machine.
Seriously, that’s really, really all it is.
They can launder their blood money
with PR statements and advertising
But that definitely doesn’t make it clean
What you don’t know can hurt you,
but the emperor is standing nakedly
All the kids are saying it too
When will we make a break between
Our glorious future and tragic past?
What today is just routine
The people of tomorrow will blast
As savagely and lavishly obscene
I can’t be emphatic enough
That things can change dramatically
And although these times are tough
We need to open our minds radically
Social evolution ain’t easy
It doesn’t happen automatically
But if we approach it diplomatically,
Openly, and undogmatically,
We can transcend these prejudiced divisions
Dogmatic hatred is an unintelligent prison
It serves only to keep us all oppressed
Are you still afraid to take the acid test?
Get outside your comfort zone
Don’t ignore the muffled moans
Of your kindred who are in distress
Be kind to strangers and the dispossessed
Poor folks deserve better than payday loans
Their pain should shake us to our bones
They should have their grievances addressed
It’s a true scandal from east to west
In every city across the country
Millions are going hungry
Encampments are forming under bridges
Perhaps it wasn’t their decisions
Maybe it was the vicious system
that does nothing but enriches
Those who need it least of all, it’s ugly
Some folks just have way too much money
Maybe someday we’ll realize
Profit is not our ally
And all of this is structural
Our ills are not just cultural
We can design a better world if we wish to
And leave all of this behind
Don’t be like the sheepish who
Let their neighbors be ghettoized
It’s time to officially recognize
That poverty is technically obsolete
But the commons has been privatized
Wall Street owns Main Street
Undo that damage and decommercialize
The fundamental necessities of life
Without which no person can survive
It’s time to finally find out what lies
Beyond the horizon of imagination
They wanted us to have for this nation
Beyond the toxic cash fixation
We need radical excessive wealth taxation
And, yes, expropriation
Of the resources being wasted
On the whims of a corporation
With no incentive to heal the community’s utter desolation
Poverty is inherently violent
And it’s time to put an end to it
It’s a daunting project, yes, I know
But that just means we must begin
The future is approaching.
Comprehend it
Represent it
Recommend it
It’s up to all of us to mend it
There is enough for everyone, so why are some still poor?
Who is it that these assemblymen are really working for? 🎃

It's a Fucking Robbery
01:52
|
|||
Hands up,
It’s a fucking robbery!
All of their property
was gotten improperly.
The world runs on bribery
And we call it a democracy?
Who wrote these laws?
Who’s got all the broccoli?
Freedom as a commodity,
it's a fucking crime, honestly.
Extracting profits constantly
fulfilling Marx's prophecy
the rich get all the glory
in the bourgeois allegory
we need a moral inventory
of this official story.
It’s a spiritual poverty
In useful idiots with historical amnesia;
It’s a crude kind of malthusianism
A mind-numbing anaesthesia.
This scarcity is no necessity!
It’s artificially induced!
Poverty is political!
It’s criminal how they hide the truth.
Obscurantist gibberish
From crooked men in suits,
They use fear as a weapon
Proliferating mass deceptions!
Like Hitler at the podium
Miseducating the public,
Innocent people get hurt
When the whole culture’s corrupt.
This fact-finding mission
Has provocative implications.
It’s unsettling to realize
We’re incentivizing predation!
But if we stay distracted
Obsessing over trivialities,
Only asking, “What’s in it for me?”
We’re doing a disservice to humanity.
The so-called “free” market
Is a counterproductive fantasy,
A flagrantly unscientific
Rationalization of apathy!
The dynamics of domination,
As mainstream as ignorance,
White-collar slaves
Drowning in their belligerence.
I have awakened from my slumber,
I see so that others may also see.
What’s the horizon of hope?
Can we ever get free?
Liberation from the misery
Of this vast exploited peasantry
Beyond the false solutions
And better living through chemistry.
Be an instrument of history,
Help the people win the future!
Do it with love, do it with wit,
Do it with vision, do it with humor.
Stand up and be counted
Among the big ideas crowd.
Where there’s a will, there’s a way!
We’ll get utopia, somehow.
All these millennial activists
Show no signs of giving up,
And we never will,
Until the whole world is fair & just!
Join an art collective
Or a reading group,
The knowledge is abundant,
No need to be out of the loop!
Don’t neglect your mental resources,
A mind’s a terrible thing to waste!
Think for yourself!
Dogma’s a tool of the klepto-state. 🎃

The Moral of the Story
01:15
|
|||
the moral of the story
is it’s gonna get gory
unless we find
another song to sing
quit flossin whips
and diamond rings
& unhealthy obsessions
with the finer things
life is about
more than that
fuck packing gats
and amassing fat stacks
money over everything
that shit is wack
get mental wheels turnin’
flip the game back around
see the underbelly
know we've all been clowned
this world’s got problems
trouble surrounds
don’t let them distract you
while your kindreds drown
this realitys a trip, man
forced underground
til the shit hits fans
and thunder sounds
will it take a catastrophe
for us to finally see
frauds unsustainable
hidden by pageantry?
the strategy of our malady
is wrathfully banal
we give a laugh factory
& amnesty to cabals
a cruel social order
governed by scrooges
crimes against humanity
forgiven by stooges
an exploited underclass
placated by snoozes
if we don’t say shit
the whole world loses
the future belongs to us
not some ancient traditions
forget fantasy lands
it's material conditions!
cuz i have my suspicions
that if we state our positions
sign our petitions
& highlight the contradictions
we'll have heavy collisions
with powerful magicians
but if we work together
we can defeat these villains
remember your convictions
to manifest your visions
speak clearly enough
and the universe will listen 🎃

it's a religion, i tell ya!
the american dream,
a pocket full of nickels
and a revenue stream.
nobody checks the stats
on all the damage it brings
nobody hears the facts
about the savage schemes.
it's a religion, i tell ya!
athletic gladiators
& ignorant commentators,
lizard brain stimulators
& belligerent legislators
demanding you stand
for an anthem that brags
about stealing this land
and planting our flags?
it's a religion, i tell ya!
we've been sold a bill of goods
this is not real freedom,
that dream is just a falsehood
come on,
you could see that if i could.
we call this shit adulthood
but we misunderstood.
see, in this religion,
it's all about buying stuff
"he who has the most wins!"
& it never is quite enough.
them hamsters stay
runnin in circles,
afraid of waking up
it's a fucking religion,
i'm tellin you right now!
like, wow, somewhere along the line
we chose to allow
straight up unchecked raw ego
to where the heavy crown
we worship narcissists
& pathological liars
selling church tickets
don't think they conspire?
it is a religion, i'm tellin ya!
industry revolutionized
& in the vacuum of god's death
his invisible hand remained on earth
to distribute our social wealth
but we all know Santa
doesn't bring his toys
to the bad parts of town
for the naughty boys
ain't got shit?
sorry, kid!
there's a high price to pay
for a life well-lived
for those with the time
no money to enjoy it
for those with the money
no time to enjoy it
if economics were a science,
we'd re-calibrate that imbalance,
but even the suggestion of trying
is treated like blasphemous malice
it's a religion, i tell ya
but in this one the rapture is real
the end of capital, immanent,
i know how i'm gonna feel 🎃

Is Life a Commodity?
01:29
|
|||
Is life a commodity?
Or a horizontal inheritance?
It’s apparent their knowledge is ahead of their wisdom here.
They’re not providing a real alternative vision.
We need to rethink many things that we are very used to.
Fuck everything you know!
It’s different now.
They said the wealth would trickle down,
But is it true?
How much evidence do we actually have for this?
It turns out, not much!
But life’s tough, ya better get used to it!
There’s a lot of slop in these figures..
Anomalous shadows..
It’s survival of the slickest
Paying liberal lip service
To ameliorative remediation
And preventative interventions.
They’re poverty apologists
Living well on ill-gotten gains.
It’s a crude philosophy,
A ponzi economy!
The traditional limitations,
Structures of oppression and domination,
It’s all part of one big story,
A lullaby for the treadmill life,
Told to wage slaves in mental graves
By fucking boy scouts!
It’s more of a blinding concept than an illuminating one.
A lot of it is just blocking and tackling in the culture war.
There’s counterrevolutionary inertia
And peripheral amusements,
But the beauty is in the breakdown!
Overthrow the old ways of thinking!
Rebuild the broken temple!
Reality asserts itself!
Our meditative tranquility
Must not ignore their class war crimes!
The sociological imagination
Is absolutely critical in these austere times.
